Slit-log drum (ikoro or ekwe) system of the Igbo people of the Nigeria, mentioned in Maduagwuna & Asadu (2014) and Okpara (2016): “[the ekwe] is used for communication such as announcements and summoning villagers to meetings” (Okpara 2016:45).
